Every organization, society perform some activities, actions which are decided by strategies. How such strategies made? Why they matters? What happens if we didn’t apply strategies?
Every leader In his organization responsible for making strategy and to execute it. This strategies driven by the shared values of that organization. In my early article I specified about leader and it’s role around politics of every organization. To read that article click here. Leader shows a directive path towards the vision . Any organization has desire to make it’s foundation strong . To build bigger towers on it. Strategies help them to make that foundation strong. To achieve those vision , leader has to deal with strategies. These strategies are bit complex as they varies with time horizon, context, vision. Every leader wants policy to fulfill his organizational values.
Problem with Strategy?
Most often times it’s not difficult to make a good strategy. It has problem with better implementation. On ground conditions it is little bit differs in implementation because strategies are being with ideal conditions with few tolerance limit. Sometimes it has problem with time domain. Sometimes short term strategies completely differ from long term strategies or they totally opposite of each other. In this new era of innovation , strategies are now main players. Innovation driven strategies are grabbing huge attention than before. In this pandemic as we see how food industry, education industry impacted. Some companies adapted the change led the way of new strategies and results are we can see how zomato makes entry on stock exchange? How online education platform grabs attention?
For innovative strategies change should be accepted first . Strategies should be implementable, measurable in it’s progress. It should cover most of the aspects of vision.
In physics there is one phenomenon called Brownian Motion. A electron is randomly moving in space. There are one in million chances of electron being in right direction. A force is required to align those electrons in right direction. Similarly if someone lead without strategies it has very little chances of getting aligned with his vision. If someone applied force, and aligned those electrons as per his direction, people in that organization feels like they get manipulated rather than motivated. So it’s better to have a strategy.
Many times I come up with problem of government policies. Then I realized that there is difference in what actually needed and what people desires? I was thinking upon such a policy where every farmer should get maximum benefit of its produce. Every farmer should make branding, export his surplus in order to achieve maximum benefit. At a strategic level it’s innovative idea but on at a implement level it’s little bit hard as How farmer share their workload as he started marketing? Are they going to accept that change even if he gets max benefit? So what’s the best strategies for such situations? I think it’s awareness. Every government is their for administration not for business. So what’s the maximum govt can do for their people is to aware about situation. Now think and look at some government strategies of any government you will find it most of them making aware to the society.
Need of Update?
As human civilization changing rapidly. Now its need to change rapidly. Accepting the change, find solution for it could be the normal response for society. Do you know Nokia Company. It was one of the top company in first decade of this century. 50% market share of keypad mobiles are held by Nokia. As time goes Android comes through disruptive innovation while Nokia doesn’t change it’s strategies with technology and results in fail. Even farmers strikes, Reservation strikes are also the examples of failed strategies. I personally thinks With innovation driven society in today’s era every human should able to manage his mental health, financials and innovative mind-set. It will not results immediately but yes in long run it will strengthen you.
What Should I learn from Strategy?
• Strategy should be aligned with its vision.
• Accept the change and update yourself.
